"The textbook Anesthesia in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by Tymofieiev O. O., Fesenko I. I. is a complete work, which focuses on an important area of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery – anesthesia. The textbook consists of seven chapters. Five of them contain the main provisions of local anesthetics, general anesthesia and drugs for its performing, potentiated local anesthesia, infiltration anesthesia, conduction anesthesia (nerve block – peripheral and central conduction anesthesia). The text of these chapters is illustrated with photos of patients with clinical stage of anesthesia demonstration and X-ray computed tomography images of the facial bones which show the clinical and anatomical points of the anesthetic administration and ways of nerve location which must be anesthetized. Methodological techniques of demonstration of the study material used by the authors contribute to its good clinical and abstract perception by the trainees. Very important information is given about systemic and local complications of local anesthesia.
In conclusion the authors present Control Training Tests, Glossary, Index and Suggested Reading. The textbook is in English, written at a high methodological level, the material is given in detail, and is available to the perception. Textbook meets international educational and scientific standards. The publication is recommended for training of students, doctors, interns, as well as in the postgraduate education of dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons"
